BIRMINGHAM, Ala. -  The Jackson State women's volleyball team, the 2012 Southwestern Athletic Conference Tournament Champion, will face No. 2 Stanford in the first round of the 2012 NCAA Volleyball Tournament.

The announcement was made during the selection show on Sunday.

JSU (24-11) will travel to Stanford, Calif. to take on the Stanford Cardinal (27-3) in the opening round on Friday, November 30, at Maples Pavilion. Match time is scheduled for 10:00 p.m. CST.

The Lady Tigers ended the 2012 SWAC tournament with a 3-1 victory over Alabama A&M in the championship game to earn a consecutive conference title.

JSU is currently riding a 22-match win streak and was undefeated in conference play.

This will be JSU's second trip to the NCAA round of 64 while Stanford makes its 32nd appearance.

Last season, JSU dropped a 3-0 decision to Nebraska in the first round of the 2011 NCAA Volleyball Tournament.
