BIRMINGHAM - Eight volleyball teams from the Southwestern Athletic Conference will compete in the 28th Southern U. Volleyball Invitational from October 5-6 inside Cliford Seymour Gymnasium in Baton Rouge, La.

The Invitational, hosted by Southern University, will include teams from Alabama State, Arkansas-Pine Bluff, Grambling State, Jackson State, Mississippi Valley State, Prairie View A&M and Texas Southern.

All head-to-head contests are considered non-conference match-ups and will only count towards a team's overall record.
