ALBANY, Ga. - Alabama A&M University won the final two frames to defeat Albany State on the road, 3-2, in non-conference play on Thursday at HPER Gymnasium.

AAMU (5-15) stretched its win streak to four matches picking the victory up in five sets.

After trailing 2-1 from set scores of 21-25, 25-19, 22-25, AAMU edged ASU in 'extra points' - 27-25, in the fourth game before sealing the match, winning the final frame, 15-11.

The Lady Bulldogs manufactured 64 kills and were led by Clarissa Moore, Leslie Ekpe, Bianca Richardson and Mariah Brown on offense.

Moore led all players with 22 kills on 34 total attacks hitting .529. Ekpe finished with 11 kills with Richardson and Brown adding 10 apiece. Ashley Forman paced the offense with 54 assists and Rebecca Cortez gathered eight digs on defense.

Sharme Ridley led ASU (14-9) with a double-double recording 20 kills and 14 digs. Ridley hit .436 on 39 total attacks. Jillian Anderson's 21 kills led the Golden Rams with Ashley Johnson finishing the match with 12. Jennifer Johnson recorded a match high of 61 assists. Defensively, Adrienne Morris tallied 17 digs and Jennifer Evans posted 16.

Nicholls State 3, @Grambling State 0
GRAMBLING, La. - Grambling State University fell 3-0 to Nicholls State in non-conference play inside Memorial Gymnasium on Thursday.

GSU (0-11) finished with a hitting percentage in the negative falling in three sets, 25-12, 25-15, 25-22.

Briliante Osborne had five kills to lead the Lady Tigers. Tori Wilson and Breonna Loud each registered five assists. Loud and Dorothy Brown finished with nine digs each as GSU totaled 41 for the game.

For NSU (7-10) Jennifer Brandt led all players with 11 kills to guide the Colonels' attack. Jessica Addicks added 10 kills and Nancy Taylor finsihed with a game high 14 assists. Marlee Bean pitched in 11 assists and Jeanne Logarbo led the field with 12 digs for the Colonels.


@New Orleans 3, Alcorn State
NEW ORLEANS, La. - Alcorn State University dropped a 3-0 decision to New Orleans in non-conference play on Thursday at the Human Performance Center.

ALCN (1-15) could not get into an offensive rhythm dropping three sets - 25-14, 25-12, 25-16.

Shaquanda Hollis led the Braves with five kills and Georgia Parsons finished with 10 assists. Jaclyn Kuzniar led ALCN with nine digs.

For UNO (5-11), Taylor Berry had a match-high 11 kills hitting .500. Ryan Hamilton had 19 assists and Ariana Labryzycki added 10. Lauren Levy led all players with 13 of the Privateers' 44 digs.
