Soccer Players of the Week - Oct. 2 - SWAC - Southwestern Athletic Conference

The Southwestern Athletic Conference announced the soccer top players for the week on Tuesday. A pair from Prairie View A&M, defender Debbie Arguelles and goalkeeper Bianca Garza joined forward India Pleasant of Alabama State as the honorees for the week ending Sept. 30.

This is the third time this season that Garza has earned SWAC weekly honors, while it's number two for Pleasant.

Pleasant had a stellar week leading the Lady Hornets to a 1-0-1 record. She scored a hat-trick and had an assist in ASU's win over Judson College. She took seven shots, four on-goal, with four finding the back of the net.

JR • F • 5-8 • Albuquerque, NM
Arguelles was instrumental in the Lady Panthers win over Houston-Victoria. She had two deflections and three successful tackles in the game.

Goalkeeper of the Week
Bianca Garza
Prairie View A&M
SO • GK • 5-7 • Nederland
Garza was named top goalkeeper for the week after making eight saves and allowing one goal in PVAM's win over Houston-Victoria.
