The Olympics is a time when countries come together and compete for the title of "Best in the World". For two HBCU student athletes, they are doing exactly that...but for different countries. Michael Tinsley, Alumni from SWAC's Jackson State University, is representing the United States, while Leford Green, Alumni from CIAA's Johnson C. Smith University, is representing Jamaica.

The real story behind these two athletes is that they are both competing in the Men's 400m Hurdles this coming Friday, August 3, 2012. The two will face-off at 11:15 AM EST in the preliminary round for the opportunity to make it to the semifinal round scheduled for the next day at 7 PM EST.

Both athletes have proven they have the talent to be an Olympian. This is their time to shine by not only representing their home countries, but also their school conferences and the HBCU community.
