Hornets / Myers Close Out Men's Golf Regionals

The 2012 SWAC men's golf season came to a close over the weekend as conference champion Alabama State and individual medalist, Clay Myers from Jackson State, both completed play at the NCAA Regional level.

Alabama State competed in the Bowling Green Regional in Bowling Green, Ky. and placed 14th with a 3-day total of 970.  The Hornets were led by Scott Benson, who fired a 76 on day one and a 77 on day two before carding an 83 on the final day. John Montgomery was two strokes behind his teammate at 78, 81, 79 for the three rounds. Jose Rodriguez, Robert Grant, and Joseph Killebrew also represented the SWAC champions at the regional.

Clay Myers competed in the Athens Regional in Athens, Ga. and tied for 72nd overall with individual round totals of 78, 77, 79 -- 234.
