Hornets Track and Field Grab Weekly Honors
Tia Rolle takes the spotlight as women's Runner of the Week, following her participation in two individual events and anchoring the 4x100 relay team. Rolle finished ninth place in the 100m dash with a time of 11.85, and 18th in the 200m dash (24.46). Her 4x100 relay team had a strong performance, earning third place with a time of 46.24.
Field Athlete of the Week goes to Shexnieavia Bryant in week four, who was one of two Hornets to compete in the women's hammer throw. Bryant finished ninth in the event with a best throw of 50.26m (164'-11).
Ronald Jordan earns men's Runner of the Week with his performances in two individual events, and two relays at the Tiger Track Classic. Jordan earned three top-ten finishes over the weekend, including ninth place in the 110m hurdles (14.65) and fifth in the 400m hurdles (53.35). He also ran as part of the 4x100 and 4x400 relays teams that finished 15th (42.27) and eighth (3:15.85), respectively.
Lee Thrasher is the men's Field Athlete of the Week following his eighth place finish in the men's shot put, recording a distance of 14.79m (48-06.25ft.).
