CONFERENCE NEWS & NOTES

- Jackson State is 4-0 in conference play for the first time since the 2010-11 season. The Tigers possess the stingest defense in points allowed thus far with just 68.5 points per game allowed overall and only 61.2 points per contest in conference only games.

- Arkansas-Pine Bluff has started 3-0 in conference play for a second consecutive season. Martaveous McKnight picked up his second SWAC Player of the Week honors this past Tuesday by averaging better than 26 points per game. - The SWAC Digital Network returns to SWAC.org on Monday, January 15 for a women’s and men’s doubleheader when Texas Southern takes on Grambling State in a women’s SWAC Championship rematch from last season. - Texas Southern remains the strongest offensive team, averaging 73.6 points per game overall and a robust 87.7 points per game in SWAC only contest. Guards Demontrae Jefferson (23.5 ppg) and Donte Clark (14.4) both rank in the top 10 in scoring in the conference.
