Hornets Sweep Final Weekly Honors

Tia Rolle wraps up SWAC outdoor weekly honors earning her second consecutive Runner of the Week. She finishes her regular season competition with another strong weekend at the Coach "O" Invitational in Troy, Alabama. Rolle competed in three events, and recorded three top three finishes, including a second place finish in the 100 meter dash (11.85). She also nabbed a pair of third place finishes in the 200m dash (24.44) and the 4x100 relay, where she ran the third leg and helped the Lady Hornets to a season-best time of 45.45.

Sophomore Jahneel Tyrell completes regular season competition earning Field Athlete of the Week. Her performance at the Coach "O" Invitational marked her best meet of the 2011-12 season, as she set two personal records and one team season-best. Tyrell set a personal best for her mark in the long jump at 5.75m, also taking second place in the event. She also set a team season, as well as personal, best in the triple jump; finishing third in the event with a jump of 11.61m.
