Alcorn State Headed to Starkville for NCAA Tourney

SWAC men's tennis champion Alcorn State is heading to Starkville, Mississippi for the 2012 NCAA Tournament. The Braves will face 9th-ranked Mississippi State in the first round on Friday May 11 at the A.J. Pitts Tennis Centre on the MSU campus.
Alcorn State is coming off of their seventh SWAC title, defeating Prairie View in the championship match in Alexandria, La. last weekend to earn the automatic bid to the NCAA tournament.
Also headed to Starkville is 28th-ranked Baylor and No. 32 Memphis, who will face off in the other first round match. The winners of the Friday matches will then meet in the second round matchup on Saturday, May 12 for the right to advance to the NCAA round of 16 in Athens, Ga., on May 17.
