Valentine Dominates Day Two for Medalist Honors
Prairie View A&M junior Shanequa Valentine fired a one-over-par 73 on Tuesday to nearly lap the rest of the field at the 2012 SWAC Women's Golf Championship. She posted a seven-shot victory with a two-day total of 78-73 -- 151.
Valentine shared the lead with Jackson State's Stephanie Robertson after an opening round 78 on Monday. Robertson finished third overall, and JSU teammate Cammryn Stith took second beating Robertson by a single shot.
Playing over an hour before the remainder of the group of individual leaders because the Panthers were in fourth place in the team competition, Valentine posted a score four shots better than any other participant on Tuesday to run away with the medalist accolades.
