No. 4 Arkansas-Pine Bluff and No. 5 Mississippi Valley State played to a scoreless first half in game two of the SWAC Soccer Tournament Thursday until Rebecca Holmes scored the game winner with 10:33 left for the Golden Lions.  Cierra Fenwick was credited with the assist for a final of 1-nil.

Holmes attempted five shots with four on goal. The NCAA leader in scoring in Laadi Issaka led MVSU with four shot attempts.

The defensive struggle resulted in a total of 14 shot attempts for the Golden Lions and 12 for the Devilettes.

Last time the two schools met, UAPB won in overtime 3-2 at home.

MVSU ends its season at 5-7-2 overall while UAPB (8-7-1) moves on to face Howard Friday at 3 p.m.
