Tinsley Wins Silver in 400M Hurdles

LONDON - Former Jackson State University standout Michael Tinsley claimed the Silver Medal in the Men's 400 meter hurdles at Olympic Stadium. Tinsley finished strong in the last 50 meters cross the line second with a time of 47.91.

Tinsley was in fifth place coming into the final turn, but blew past Javier Culson of Puerto Rico, David Greene of Great Britain and teammate Angelo Taylor down the stretch. Culson claimed the bronze medal, finishing third at 48.10.

Greene finished fourth (48.24), while Taylor was fifth with a time of 48.25. Jehue Gordon of Trinidad and Tobago was sixth (48.86), former Johnson C. Smith standout Leford Green of Jamaica was seventh (49.12) and Kerron Clement of the United States finished eighth with a time of 49.15.

Thirty-four-year-old Felix Sanchez of the Domincan Republican took the gold medal, winning the race with a time of 47.63.
