Devilettes Headed to Louisiana for NCAA Tourney

The SWAC Softball tournament champion Mississippi Valley State Devilettes will face No. 16 Louisiana-Lafayette in the first round of the NCAA Tournament Women's Softball Championship.
The two teams will square off on Friday at 7:00 at Lamson Park in Lafayette, La. Stanford (38-17) faces Baylor (33-20) at 3:30 on Friday.
The two teams met once during the 2012 season and it was a rough outing for MVSU. UL defeated the Devilettes 21-0 in the 26th Annual Louisiana Classics on February 12.
The tournament field has 64 teams, with eight regions split into two sub-regions. The winners of the sub-regions will meet in Super Regionals to determine who will advance to Oklahoma City for the Women's College World Series.
The winner of the Lafayette Regional will face the winner of the Arizona State Regional which has the defending national champion Sun Devils hosting LIU-Brooklyn, Syracuse and Long Beach State.
