Danielle Thorpe joins the Southwestern Athletic Conference as the Compliance Services Coordinator.  Thorpe was a graduate Assistant with the MEAC through the North Carolina Central University Compliance Department. She is a graduate of Appalachian State University where she received a Fine and Applied Arts degree in Advertising and a Minor in Marketing.  Thorpe earned her Master’s from North Carolina Central in Athletic Administration.  

During her time at Appalachian State, she was a full-scholarship track and field athlete, where she holds the Southern Conference (SoCon) outdoor triple jump record at 43’2. She achieved numerous awards (MVP, athlete of the week/month) and SoCon Champion titles in the long jump and triple jump.  She also made several appearances on the regional and national level of the NCAA Division I Championships.

Atlanta, Ga native is a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc.  .As an undergraduate, Thorpe served as the president for the Rho Theta Chapter for two years, was involved in the Mentoring program  (Peer Mentor of the Year in 2008-2009), and a recipient of the Who’s Who American University Award.
