BIRMINGHAM -- The Southwestern Athletic Conference has selected University of Arkansas-Pine Bluff outside hitter Audrey Sherles, Alabama State libero Luiza Griz, and Prairie View A&M setter Kelsey Espinosa as its Volleyball Players of the Week.
Sherles and Griz capture their second SWAC weekly award with Sherles receiving offensive player of the week and Griz tabbed as the conference's top defender. Espinosa extends her newcomer of the week honors to six on the year.

Audrey Sherles
Arkansas-Pine Bluff

Sherles helped guide Arkansas-Pine Bluff to a 2-0 record last week hitting .748 in total attack percentage. She finished with 21 kills from 38 total attacks. She also tacked on seven digs and six total blocks. In the Lady Lions 3-1 win against Henderson State (10/23), she recorded 14 kills hitting .440. Against Grambling State (10/25), she finished with seven kills and five block assists to pace UAPB to a 3-0 sweep in SWAC western division play.

Griz helped ASU pick up a pair of conference wins on the road posting 33 digs to lead the Lady Hornets back line. In the 3-0 win over Alcorn State (10/25), she finished with six digs and three kills. Griz followed with a 27-dig performance at Mississippi Valley State (10/26) to help ASU pull off another 3-0 sweep in eastern division action.
Newcomer of the Week
Kelsey Espinosa
Prairie View A&M

Espinosa earns her sixth SWAC Newcomer of the Week award after registering 39 assists in PVAM's 3-2 win over Southern (10/25). In the match, Espinosa complemented her play with five digs, five kills and a service ace. Her efforts helped the Lady Braves stay in control of the SWAC western division.
