Mississippi Valley 1, Grambling 0
GRAMBLING -- Nykosi Simmons' goal in the 73rd minute lifted Mississippi Valley (5-8-2) to a win over Grambling (2-10). Shelby Willcocks had four saves in the shutout.
Alabama A&M 4, Jackson State 0
JACKSON -- Alabama A&M piled up four goals in the second half to roll past first place Jackson State (5-8-1, 2-1-1 in SWAC).
Four different players scored for the Lady Bulldogs (3-12, 1-1 in SWAC). Zenabu Musa scored the first goal in the 55th minute. Then, Ana Huertas put one in in the 70th minute to make it 2-0. Camila Sandoval and Nycole Henderson had the other two goals late in the second half.
Linda Aboagye earned the shutout for A&M. She finished the game with seven saves.
Alabama State 3, Southern 2
BATON ROUGE -- Alabama State (6-7-2) came from two goals down to beat Southern (0-10-1) on the road on Sunday.
Jazmine Harrell score in the 5th minute of the game to give Southern a 1-0 lead. Fabiola Parra added to the lead with a goal in the 34th minute. Raven White had the assist on the goal that gave the Jaguars a 2-0 lead.
India Pleasant teamed with Lenna Lamas to cut the ASU deficit in half in the 43rd minute. Pleasant took the pass from Lamas and scored with 2:44 left in the half to make it 2-1 at the break.
In the second half, it was Alexandria Cannon who provided the equalizer and go-ahead goal. The first goal tied the game in the 64th minute. Anastasia McCleary had the assist on the goal that tied the game at 2-2. Then in the 77th minute, Cannon scored the game-winner on an unassisted goal.
Texas Southern 4, Houston-Victoria 0
HOUSTON -- Texas Southern cruised past Houston–Victoria in a non-conference match on Sunday. TSU improved to 5-12 with the win.
All of the TSU goals came the second half. Senior Florence Onyera broke the ice in the 47th minute with in the unassisted goal. Then in the 60th minute, Briona Reid added to the lead with a goal, assisted by Gabriella Perales.
Less than 10 minutes later, Perales put the Lady Tigers up 3-0 with a goal in the 69th minute. Marlyn Campa rounded out the scoring for TSU in the 89th minute.
Arkansas-Pine Bluff 1, Alcorn State 0
PINE BLUFF -- Celeste Carrera scored an unassisted goal in the 57th minute and goalkeeper Alyssa Cobbs made it stand as Arkansas-Pine Bluff (4-13-2) edged Alcorn State (2-12). Cobbs finished the shutout with eight saves for the Lady Lions.
