BATON ROUGE, La. - In the first of two SWAC-TV volleyball matches on the week, Southern University outlasted Grambling State to notch a Southwestern Athletic Conference western division win on Wednesday at Cliford Seymour Gymnasium.

SU (3-19, 1-3) picked up its first divisional win on the season sweeping GSU (0-16, 0-5) in three sets from scores of 28-26, 25-22 and 25-17.

Marisol Macias lifted the Lady Jaguars with 11 kills and Jacquia Bell finished with a double-double, 10 kills and 11 digs. Keya Bennett paced the offense with 30 kills and Simone Beaseley had a team high of 12 digs.

The Lady Tigers were led by Dorothy Brown's double-double performance with 12 kills and 15 digs. Breonna Loud had 19 assists and Kayla Lewis finished with 15 digs.

MONTICELLO, Ark. - The University of Arkansas-Pine Bluff dropped a non-conference match in four sets at Arkansas at Monticello on Wednesday at Steelman Fieldhouse.

It was UAPB's the second loss to UAM this season finishing the match with scores of 13-25, 23-25, 25-19 and 20-25.

The Lady Lions (5-13) were led by Alicia Campbell's match-high 14 kills. Audrey Sherles and Ashlie Jones also reached double-digits offensively with 13 and 11 kills, respectively.

Alexis Lowe dished out 18 assists and Jordan Foyer chipped in 17. Brea Campbell led UAPB with 16 digs.

The Cotton Blossoms (9-16) collected 45 kills on 143 attempts with 17 errors for a .196 percentage. The Lady Lions had 48 kills on 152 attempts with 35 errors for a .086 percentage.

Amy Kleypas led UAM with a double-double of 12 kills and 11 digs. Christina Rini followed closely with eight kills and added four block solos to her totals. Junior Amy Bazemore contributed to the UAM offensive attack with 21 assists and Jaclyn Trinque added 13. Allison Beardsley tallied 16 digs to lead UAM.
