ITTA BENA, Miss. - In the only Southwestern Athletic Conference match-up of the night, Mississippi Valley State University defeated the University of Arkansas-Pine Bluff, 3-1, on Tuesday at the Harrison Hyper Complex.

Brychana Williams led MVSU (3-7) with 14 kills and eight digs to help the Devilettes pick up the win in four sets, 25-11, 18-25, 26-24, 25-19.

April Brown tacked on 16 assists with Alexandria Garland and Jane Peterson each recording a team high nine digs. Defensively, MVSU finished with 11 blocks.

The UAPB (3-7) offense was spearheaded by Alicia Campbell's game high of 15 kills to complement seven digs. Brea Clayton led all players with 18 digs. Alexis Lowe led the field with 28 assists and Jordan Foyer tacked on 11 for the Lady Lions.

PRAIRIE VIEW, Texas - Prairie View A&M's balanced attack was highlighted by five players recording eight or more kills enroute to a 3-0 win over Huston-Tillotson on Tuesday inside the Williams Nicks Building.

PVAM (5-14) finished the match with set scores of 25-20, 25-17, 25-23.

The Lady Braves offensive numbers were evenly distributed courtesy of the play from Southwestern Athletic Conference Newcomer of the Week, Kelsey Espinosa. Espinosa piled on 35 assists, two service aces and a game best eight digs.

Bruna Menezes finished with a game high nine kills while Breanna McNeil, Rachel Owens, Charae Caldwell and Amelia Velez each chipped in eight.

Chatelia Washington led Huston-Tillotson (1-16) with eight kills and Cynthia Allen added six while hitting .667. Amber Green finished with 11 assists and Brittany Cowan recorded six digs.

JACKSON, Miss. - Christine Edwards hit .500 of her total attacks and tallied a game-high nine kills to guide Jackson State University to a 3-0 win over the University of New Orleans on Tuesday at T.B. Ellis Arena.

JSU (5-11) extended its winning streak to three matches posting set scores of 25-10, 25-19, and 25-20. 

Edwards also tacked on seven aces and three digs. Jenna Siddiqui registered a game-high 13 assists and Angelica Kelley led the Lady Tigers with five digs.

New Orleans (3-10) was held to .030 in hitting percentage with Marti Richmiller leading the attack with six kills. She tied a match high five digs while hitting .250 on the night. Ariana Labryzycki posted 11 assists for UNO.
